Gartner has named Ericsson the worldwide communications service provider (CSP) operational technology revenue leader
Gartner in its Market Share Analysis: Communications Service Provider Operational Technology, Worldwide, 2013 report, also places Ericsson as worldwide market share leader for CSP, which is a combination of carrier network infrastructure, telecom operations management systems (BSS, OSS and SDP) and network infrastructure services.
According to the report, which combines carrier network infrastructure and telecom operations management systems, and adds market shares for network infrastructure services, Ericsson software and software services revenues were ranked first in market share in 2013.
Ericsson’s agile software and software services enable CSPs to increase the performance of their business resources with customer-facing software and to plan, build, run and support the performance and availability of their networks and IT resources with network-facing software.
Commenting on the announcement, Per Borgklint, senior vice president and head of Ericsson’s Business Unit Support Solutions said: “We believe Gartner’s CSP operational technology analysis further validates our position in the market and commitment to providing customers with innovative, integrated solutions that lower their costs and increase revenues even as they bring complex new services to market.
“Ericsson is proud to be recognized following the significant work we’ve done to bolster our value proposition as a global OSS/BSS solution provider through strategic acquisitions and investments that have also strengthened our global consulting and system integrator exposure.”
Gartner’s CSP Operational Technology worldwide market share data report comprises all vendor solutions that are designed to specifically cater to the CSP vertical, including network and network services, as well as infrastructure and application software and services and corresponding services.
It excludes solutions that are not CSP-specific, even if sourced by CSPs, such as data center solutions and handsets.
Operators must become agile as they support services across networks, offer a range of plans and push the limits of innovation.
