ESKIMI, one of the largest social media and entertainment platforms in Africa, counting 15 million members, hits 100’000 fanclubs on users generated content interest based networks.
Vytas Paukstys, chief executive officer, Eskimi said: “We have created fanclubs as a user generated content part of the product. Everyone can create his own community inside Eskimi and invite friends to share the same interest. The most popular fanclubs are personal, education, automotive, music, technology, sports”.
He said that the Fanclubs were also created by the social network as tools for brands to create their own branded spaces inside Eskimi network.
Some of the largest brands from Nigeria like Glo, Airtel, MTN, Pepsi, GTBank, FCMB and others have their own fanclubs in Eskimi.
Recent case studies also show that the reach and engagement of the fanclub in Eskimi is much better that the metrics on Facebook Pages.
“The main reason for better engagement is that we do not limit the posts and show all posts to the users. Average reach on Facebook is up to 10% and on Eskimi advertisers can reach up to 40% reach”, Vytas commented on the metrics.
There are other popular metrics from Eskimi. For example, in 2013 Eskimi also launched 2 new functions for end-users, two of them being ESKIMI ASK and ESKIMI MATCH GAME.
Eskimi Ask is a fun Questions and Answers function to enrich the communication among Eskimi friends. Match game is a flirting game on top of the Eskimi audience, which helps people find new flirts to chat with.
Information available to Nigeria CommunicationsWeek showed that in 2013 there were more than 45 million questions answered by users, while other user-members found 5.5 million mutual matches.
