Etisalat Nigeria has announced the biggest airtime offer yet of a monthly N1 billion free credits for her customers as the ambitious telco moves to consolidate its market share and chalked up more subscribers.
The offer is to commemorate her fourth anniversary and celebrate the loyalty of her 14 million strong subscribers.
The 9ja free credit promo initially launched last year as the Sim registration campaign has since evolved into a reward platform with airtime, devices and cash for their loyalty to the network.
Lucas Dada, director, Products and Services, Etisalat affirmed that the new promo was in line with the innovative telecom company’s friendly gestures to the customers and formed a part in its corporate social responsibility.
He said that the company prides itself as being a network that gives its customers the freedom to talk without any limitations.
“This was marked by our launch into the Nigerian market in 2008 with our famous 0809uchoose campaign, offering our subscribers the freedom to choose their unique set of phone numbers”. Dada said
Waxing lyrical the company said “some good examples of these are: EasyAdz service which empowers customers to opt-in for advertisement of products which they are interested in thereby blocking out spam. For easywallet, we partnered with several banks and have given the option of using the SIM menu in accessing mobile financial services. Our easyblaze service has a unique feature called the data calculator which gives you an estimate of how much data you use each month and helping you choose the right plan. And all our opt-in services – easylife, homezone, talkzone, You & Me etc. which gives our customers the freedom to opt-in to enjoy the discounted tariffs which they offer, and opt-out if their preferences changes”.
Etisalat promised to be steadfast in her corporate social responsibility (CSR) interventions in the area of education, which is a pointer to her life changing contributions to the lives of the Nigerian youth.
“Since inception, over 600 undergraduates of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Business administration have received scholarships worth over N60m under our Merit Awards Scheme.
“We have also provided conducive learning environments through the renovation of Akande Dahunsi Secondary School and the total reconstruction of Edward Blyden Memorial School, Okesuna and Rabiatu Thompson Primary School, all in Lagos under our Adopt-a-School Initiative. These among our other contributions are geared to future and economic development. Dada said.
“Since our launch 4 years ago, we have also continued to create promotions and initiatives which have changed the lives of Etisalat’s over fourteen million customers”.
It would be recalled that Kizito Egeonu emerged winner of Etisalat “9jillions” promotion, Africa’s biggest grand prize promotion promo that commenced in June 2009. Since then, various winners have emerged in series of other promo sponsored by Etisalat. “The three pronged promotion spanned 5 months and offered a “win a phone every hour” segment followed by regional finals where over N400m was given out to winners.
The promotion ended on the 6th of November 2009 when Etisalat made history and changed the life and story of 20-year old under graduate, Kizito Egeonu with the prize money of one million dollars.
