Steven Evans, chief executive officer, Etisalat Nigeria has commended the country’s distribution partners for their continuous support which has made it possible for the telecommunication company to achieve the level of success recorded in the over one year of its commercial operations in the country.
Evans, speaking at the business conference which had partners across the country in attendance, said that the partners had contributed in no small measure to Etisalat business success in 2009 thereby supporting his team’s efforts towards meeting the expectation of the shareholders in terms of return on investment.
According to him, “I thank you so much for finding time to honour our invitation today. From my experience in this business which started from sales and marketing, I know distribution partners are the most critical factor to the success of telecoms business and we sincerely thank you for your support. We also look forward to a better and more robust business relationship in 2010”.
The CEO noted that the year 2010 promised to be more rewarding for the dealers as Etisalat is committed to investing in building its own backbone infrastructure to enhance quality of the network and expand the network’s area of coverage; provide promotional support and incentives to boost profitability for the dealers and also provide a feedback mechanism to ensure better understanding of the needs and challenges of its partners.
In his remarks, Wael Ammar, Etisalat’s chief marketing officer, explained that the conference was designed as a platform for both Etisalat and the partners to review their performance for the previous year and share thoughts on how Etisalat can work with the dealers better for a mutually rewarding experience in 2010. “We constantly need to review our performances, share thought and understand the expectations to achieve success as a business. When we understand where we are, we would be able to appreciate where we are going and what we need to get there”.
While commending Etisalat for some of its innovations which had impacted positively on their business, the dealers also used the opportunity of the forum to share some of their challenges and their expectations from Etisalat. It was an opportunity for both parties to exchange kudos and knocks where applicable in the interest of the business, subscribers and the telecoms market.
Highlighting some of the activities planned for the year, Gabriel Olanrewaju, Etisalat head of distribution channels, explained that distribution partners will enjoy more incentives which will impact more profitably on their business for the year 2010.
Other top officials who made presentation and provided answers to the partner’s questions, comments and observations included Tolu Ojo, Etisalat Ssales director, and Abhulime Ehiagwina, director Financial Accounting.
