Etisalat,  recently hosted the 2012 Distribution  Partners  Conference  at  the  Expo Center of the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria  Island  in  Lagos.  The event which is a forum for the company to meet with its distribution partners is also aimed at reviewing activities and performances of the previous year and sharing its business plan for the year.
Themed,  ‘reaching  higher  for 9ja’, the conference was also an avenue for Etisalat  to  receive  feedback  from  the  distribution  partners  on  the challenges  encountered  in the course of executing their businesses in the different regions.
In  his  opening  remarks,  Director  Indirect  &  Corporate Sales, Mr. Ken Ogujiofor  acknowledged  the  support  of the distribution partners towards building  a  business  environment  that  is  not  only  congenial but also rewarding for the company.
He  said,  “Our  distribution  partners  play  a  key  role in the fast and expansive  development  of  our business and it is for this reason, amongst others,  that  we  are  keen to continually engage with them so as to share ideas  which  will be mutually beneficial to them as business people and to us as an organization”.
Various presentations highlighting plans to address the trends in the telecommunications industry, growing demands for data services, provision of affordable 3G-enabled devices, mobile applications and the CBN cashless society were made. The conference also provided Etisalat the opportunity to inform  the  distribution  partners  of  the  forthcoming  plans  to reward outstanding  performances  in  the Heroes Awards scheduled to take place in February 2012.
Wael Ammar, Chief Commercial Officer, Etisalat Nigeria, added: “We constantly engage our partners in this kind of  meetings  to  review  our  performances,  share thoughts and understand expectations  in  order  to  achieve optimal success as a business. When we understand where we are, we would be able to appreciate where we are going and what we need to get there. We appreciate our distribution partners who are the backbone of our business and assure them that we will continue to improve and enhance the existing relationships with them”.
It was not all about products, services and targets as the Distributor Partners were given the opportunity to win devices from Etisalat through a lucky dip. Among the winners were; Golad Investments from Ilorin, Stanqueen in Nigeria Limited, C&N Abuson Ltd and TIG Communications from Lagos.
