Etisalat, Nigeria’s most innovative and fastest growing telecommunications company has partnered with Simon Page Business School for the second consecutive year to bring together international experts and local marketing key decision makers at the second edition of Digital Marketing Conference and Exhibition, organized by Simon Page Business School.

Themed ‘Deploying Digital Marketing for Competitive  Advantage‘, the two-day event begins on May 23rd, 2013 and is aimed at encouraging the advancement of innovative technology and digital marketing by organizations through interaction and thought leadership.

Delegates and participants will be focusing on discussions around technology, digital marketing, mobile broadband and strategies to improve local content, competitive edge and consumer engagement.

This year’s edition is expected to attract delegates and participants from across West Africa, including technology experts, digital marketing professionals and tech-savvy youth delegates.

Facilitators at the Conference will provide strategies and insights towards improving the knowledge base of attendees.

Wael Ammar, chief commercial officer Etisalat Nigeria, said the Digital Marketing Conference and Exhibition is aimed at instilling a digital culture among Nigeria’s marketing professionals and practitioners.

“Globally, the internet has revolutionised and become the basic element of the marketing mix as well as marketing practice in general. This conference is expedient to ensure that Nigeria’s marketing practitioners take advantage of global marketing trends”, he said.

“Etisalat is associated with all things innovative and digital marketing is  the latest innovation in marketing. For us as Etisalat, there’s a natural fit between our business and digital marketing because the internet which is the channel for digital media runs on data. Etisalat’s 3.75G HSPA+ network capable of download speeds of 42Mbps facilitates digital marketing”, he concluded.

Explaining why this conference is important for organisations, CEO of Simon Page Business School, Princewill Omorogiuwa said “one of the reasons why digital marketing is poorly practiced is a lack of understanding of how it works and this is what we are seeking to address through our training programmes as well as the digital marketing conferences. They are designed to ensure that we bridge the knowledge gaps and ensure that our professionals are able to compete globally.”

This year’s edition follows the success of the Digital Marketing Conference and Exhibition 2012 which held at the Civic Centre in Lagos last year.

According to the organisers, the 2nd edition promises to be more exhilarating and exciting with key internet marketing experts from around the world who will inform and educate delegates about the very latest developments in the digital arena and how they can leverage digital tools for greater competitive advantage.
