Experts Converge on Lagos for MobileMoney West Africa Summit

MobileMoney regulation, international remittances and agency banking will be a major focus at the 2nd Mobile Money West Africa summit which will be held at the Lagos Orientals Hotel, Lagos, Nigeria on March 5th and 6th.
The regional event which is devoted solely to mobile financial services will host leading knowledge matter experts in the mobile money space from US, Europe, Africa and Asia.
“West Africa is at the threshold of joining other regions in Africa where mobile financial services is shaping how people access basic financial services, pay for goods and services, conduct banking and transfer money within National and international boundaries but recent developments has shown that the region is still struggling to understand the key drivers of adoption in this region with over 150 million mobile subscribers,” said Emmanuel  Okoegwale, .
To address the needs of the ecosystem in West Africa, this year’s second annual MobileMoney West Africa summit has secured leading knowledge matter experts to share their knowledge and expert opinions in the focus areas such as agency banking, international remittances, cross border regulation and payment systems over two days of the summit.(5th & 6th March)
To present a well balanced event for the mobile financial services ecosystems, speakers are selected from mobile micro-insurance, agency banking, international remittances, application providers and security sectors to ensure that all stakeholders’ issues are well covered during the presentations, panel discussions and Masterclass planned for the event.
Leading mobile financial services application providers from Comviva and Mfino will present on how to deplore the right application for mobile money services. In addition, leading thought leaders in the mobile money spaces will deliver papers on how to get it right while deploying mobile money services for financial institutions, telcos and independent firms in West Africa. Directors from MobileMoney consulting and Experian analytics UK will take the delegates through the sustainability plans. Showcase presentation by Bruno Akpaka of BICS will showcase and demo the innovative and award winning Homesend mobile remittance service amongst other knowledgeable experts in the mobile money space.
