FAAN Installs 3-D Scanners, Beefs Up Security @ Airports
Security has been enhanced at all Nigerian Airports and modern security facility installed at the airports, according to the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said.
FAAN said that the modern security facility include; 3-D Scanners, which are already in use at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
Mr. George Uriesi, managing director of FAAN, made this remark when a team of economic officers from the Embassy of the United States of America paid him a courtesy call in Lagos.
Messrs James Plasman, who replaced Robert Folley as Economic officer at the Consulate in Lagos and Ed Waters, who covers the aviation sector as well as the Embassy’s Abuja Economic office were part of the team which paid the visit, designed by the Embassy to partner FAAN in finding common grounds to move the country’s aviation industry forward, especially in the areas of safety and security at airports.
The MD/CEO enlightened the visitors on the various projects being undertaken by FAAN to enhance service delivery at all airports managed by FAAN, in line with President Goodluck Jonathan’s Transformation Agenda in the aviation industry, as being driven by Princess Stella Oduah, minister of Aviation.
