Female Tech MDs Inspire Techpreneurs at AIG/Idea Hub Fireside Chat

At the recent Idea Hub Fireside Chat, startup founders converged to meet with the Managing Directors of the Rocket funded Africa Internet Group to share knowledge, case studies, exchange notes and possibly co create.

In AIG companies and present at the chat, Carmudi and Easy Taxi now have female MDs; these companies have joined the league of the inclusion of more female top execs in tech firms.

Both ladies took over the baton of leadership from their male colleagues and continue to make their companies thrive under their leadership.

At the event Amy Muoneke, MD Carmudi Nigeria advised startup founders to focus more on identifying their target market so they can properly utilize their resources.

On been a part of Carmudi she said ‘it's been great contributing to Carmudi's innovative growth. Carmudi offers convenience and we are constantly developing new ideas and innovation that allows the buying and selling of cars online via the Carmudi platform easier.'

Also, Adaora Asala, MD, EasyTaxi Nigeria, encouraged the founders to put proper internal structures in place so it can last throughout the business cycle.

As for differentiation, Easy Taxi was a pioneer in the Nigeria and is still expanding.

‘’In big cities taxis will never go away as a means of commuting so having others in the taxi app space allows for diversity and gives customers an option (but it is important to ensure your business stands out) to choose based on why this business is here and it's immediate impact on the livelihood of residents,” she said.

Their pedigree in ICT led organizations is not by happenstance as Muoneke was once at the helm of affairs of bus.com.ng.

In addition to her role as MD Carmudi Nigeria she was recently made Head of Sales Carmudi Africa.

Also, Asala is an MIT alumnus and has over five years’ experience in the tech industry designing and implementing technology solutions before taking over as MD Easy Taxi Nigeria from Bankole Cardoso.
