Mr Martin Abeshi, Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Monday revoked all diplomatic passports currently in the possession of former state governors, ministers, members of the National Assembly, members of the state legislature and other political office holders in the country.

The NIS has also ordered such past executive political office holders who were issued diplomatic passports during their tenure to return them with immediate effect.

The order, which was contained in a statement personally signed by Abeshi, stated that failure to comply to the directive would amount to a gross violation of the law as contained in the NIS 2015 Act as amended.

The Federal government had recently ordered the withdrawal of all diplomatic and official passports from those holding them after the expiration of their tenures especially,  where they  have no good reasons to use such privileged travel documents.
