FG Sacks Maina, Pension Thief Suspect, Appoints Jaji
Abdulrasheed Maina, the embattled chairman of the pension reform task force, has finally been removed from his position at the pension office.
The Federal Government has also appointed Olabisi Jaji as Maina’s replacement.
Maina was director at the Customs, Immigrations, and Prisons Pension Office.
The National Assembly had ordered Maina’s sack by the government, and his arrest by the police. The police have since declared him wanted.
Maina accused of embezzling pension funds only recently prayed the Federal High Court in Abuja to award him N1.5 billion in compensation for embarrassment caused members of his family and himself.
He said he has suffered “trauma and psychological pain” because of the warrant of arrest declared on him.
Maina, is reportedly on the run for N195 billion pension scam. The Nigeria Police Force has since declared him wanted from his failure to appear before a Senate committee after repeated summons.
