Finally, GEJ Opens Up on $2.1B Arms Scandal
Former President Goodluck Jonathan, has said that his administration actually bought weapons for the military to fight Boko Haram.
This is contrary to the various reports in the media, which no weapons were bought during his tenure.
At his world conference which held in Geneva, Switzerland, yesterday, Jonathan, said that “The current administration continues to fight them with the weapons we acquired and collectively I am confident we will eradicate them.”
He also said “My voice will certainly be heard at the appropriate time regarding the alleged arms funds mismanagement.”
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had earlier called on the former President to tell Nigerians all he knows about the $2.1b arms purchase scandal.
The world press conference was part of activities organised by the Circle of Diplomats (Circle Diplomatique), Geneva to honour Jonathan.
