ESET®, the global leader in proactive digital protection, on Thursday announced that Flexera Software, global leader in software licensing, compliance, security and installation solutions, expands the scope of ESET Technology Alliance members.

As a result of this newly established relationship, existing SMB ESET customers will have the option to add Flexera Software’s Corporate Software Inspector.

The security patch management solution for enterprises bolsters clients’ layered security strategies and will be rolled out gradually via their existing ESET resellers throughout Q4 2016.

“At ESET, we know that to be fully protected against online threats means having all of your software patched and up to date. Therefore, we proudly introduce Flexera Software’s Corporate Software Inspector as the newest member of the ESET Technology Alliance, to help enterprises with patch management,” said Jeronimo Varela, Director of Global Sales at ESET.

According to Flexera Software Vulnerability Review 2016, the number of vulnerabilities detected in 2015 was 16,081, discovered in 2,484 applications from 263 vendors.

The statistics shows a 39% increase over the course of the five-year trend and a 2% increase from 2014 to 2015.

"Corporate Software Inspector is the preferred security patching solution for more than 1,000 enterprises worldwide. They benefit from our seamless integration with Microsoft products to simplify assessment of security status and patching of critical, non-Microsoft applications,” said Cindy Grogan, vice president, Global Alliances at Flexera Software.

Corporate Software Inspector empowers IT Operations teams to continuously identify vulnerable applications and apply security patches – before vulnerabilities that lead to costly breaches can be exploited.

The solution leverages verified vulnerability intelligence and assesses over 20,000 applications, delivering tested patch packages for non-Microsoft applications, accelerating identification of vulnerabilities, driving their prioritization and reducing time to patch.

Launched in 2013, the ESET Technology Alliance is an integration partnership that aims to better protect businesses by offering a range of complementary IT security solutions. All members of the ESET Technology Alliance are carefully vetted against a set of established criteria to extend “best-in-class” business protection across IT environments.

Since 1987, ESET® has been developing award-winning security software that now helps over 100 million users to Enjoy Safer Technology.

Its broad security product portfolio covers all popular platforms and provides businesses and consumers around the world with the perfect balance of performance and proactive protection.

The company has a global sales network covering 180 countries, and regional offices in Bratislava, San Diego, Singapore and Buenos Aires.

Flexera Software helps application producers and enterprises increase application usage and the value they derive from their software.

Its next-generation software licensing, compliance, security and installation solutions are essential to ensure continuous licensing compliance, optimized software investments and to future-proof businesses against the risks and costs of constantly changing technology.
