Anxious residents of Egbeda, a suburb of Lagos, who in the last two months had been hearing about the premium comedy show of the Next Generation Network, Globacom, the Glo Laffta Fest, were at last given a dose of the hilarious last Sunday.

Glo subscribers were treated to an evening of fun, laughter and dance as the show landed at Floral Hall, Santos, Egbeda.

Characteristic of the comedy show, young, up-and-coming acts were given the opportunity to showcase their talents as they set the ball rolling for the show.

Fabulous, Bamsley, Crown,  Phlow, D-One and Illven were the singers who performed while Dave, SLK and D- Lecturer,  cracked hilarious jokes.

The anchor man for the show, Bright Okpocha, aka Basket Mouth, was simply in his element as he announced the performing artistes and comedians while intermittently reeling out rib-cracking jokes.

Acapella was unarguably the curtain-raiser for the night as his performance set the pace and tempo of the show. He was followed by Princewill who gave values for his fans' time out at the show with jokes about his upbringing in the slums of Ajegunle.

The duo of Still Ringing took the show a notch higher. Their style of stand-up comedy was the “speaker and interpreter”. The duo held the audience in sustained ecstasy until the anchor, Basket Mouth, announced that they had over-shot their time. The crowd enjoyed every bit of their outing.

D-Don emerged on stage, looking dapper in sky blue boots and hat. The Warri-born comedian also lived up to expectation. Then came Seyi Law whose mien and physical appearance alone amused the audience. He interacted with his fans as he reeled out jokes.

Korede Bello climaxed the show with an exhilarating performance. The lad performed with zest and youthful energy that left the audience chorusing and applauding him.

A statement from Globacom said that the Glo Laffta Fest comedy show initiative was developed to give back to its teeming subscribers for their love and loyalty.

The company urged subscribers wishing to attend the on-going Laffta Fest comedy show to use up to N3,000 before the next show and send LOL Location’ to  33001. For example, ‘LOL AYANGBA’ to 33001. The next show will hold in Ayangba, Kogi State on Thursday, October 29, 2015,” the statement added.

NITDA Challenges Nigeria Army to Treat Data as Vital Tool for Decision Advantage in Military Operations

By Ugo Onwuaso20 Aug 2026

National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has advised the Nigerian Army to stop treating data management as a mere record-keeping exercise and instead harness it as a strategic tool for gathering information and intelligence, stressing that the ability to convert data into actionable insight will define military advantage in modern warfare.
