Globacom Wins Integrity & Service Award
The Nigerian Television Authority – Integrity and Service Programme (NTA-ISP) Award was held at the Aso rock Villa, Abuja last week with national telecommunication company, Globacom, carting home the coveted Nigerian Brand of the Year award.
NTA, in Globacom’s citation it read at the event, described it as the “African Brand with Global Aspirations”, adding that the telecommunication company is a modern network providing both voice and data services with dynamic price plans on a cutting-edge network that is continuously being upgraded.
The organisers also stated that Globacom is the first company to roll out a 4 GLTE network in 33 locations across the country, adding that it has the largest data network through which it is providing innovative data services for the benefit of millions of Nigerians.
Globacom, in its response, stated that resilience and commitment to vision and a sense of the future, backed by massive and consistent innovation, remain the secret of its growth.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Agriculture, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who represented the Senate President, presented the award to Mr. Mansur Opakunle, a senior officer in the Public Sector Department of the company.
The event was attended by top government functionaries and political leaders including Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, Governors Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi, Rochas Okorocha of Imo, Tanko Al –Makura of Nassarawa and Mohammed Bindow Jibrilla of Adamawa States, and the Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu.
