According to estimates from Gartner, worldwide spending on information security products and services will amount to $114 billion this year, an increase of more than 12.4 percent from $102 billion in 2017.
The research and advisory firm forecasts that spending will increase an additional 8.7 percent in 2019 to reach $124 billion.
As the chart indicates, the largest portion of this year's huge total is expected to be spent on security services, followed by infrastructure protection and network security equipment.
