Handheld Strengthens Worldwide Sales Force
Handheld Group, a fast-growing supplier of rugged PDAs, smartphones and mobile computers, has added three managers to its global sales team, focusing on markets in North Germany, the United States and Scandinavia.
These appointments were made in response to rapid growth worldwide for Handheld Group, and will position the company to provide continued strong support for its resellers in anticipation of more growth.
Oliver Warn, sales manager for north Germany, has 25 years of experience in sales and a degree in export merchandising and commercial correspondence.
Prior to joining Handheld, Warn worked as a sales manager in the AutoID market, pursuing his passion for barcoding and RFID technology in positions at Nordic ID and Psion Teklogix.
“I am really looking forward to this new and exciting challenge. It’s an honor for me to be part of the Handheld world, and I am eager to increase the success of Handheld Germany,” Warn said.
Terence Howard, U.S. Sales manager holds a degree in electronics engineering and brings to Handheld more than 20 years of experience in the telecom and wireless-device industries.
Howard has deep technical and product knowledge and a proven record of building strong relationships within the Wireless Carrier Partner channel. Most recently, he worked as the national sales manager for Alcatel One Touch.
“Handheld’s growth in the past few years has been impressive. I look forward to being able to offer top-notch products like the Nautiz X1 ultra-rugged Android smartphone to my U.S. reseller contacts,” Howard said.
Erik Hoekstra, a graduate of Handheld’s yearlong Management Trainee Program, is the new sales manager for Handheld’s Scandinavia subsidiary.
Hoekstra holds a degree in business economics and has a strong drive toward sales and entrepreneurship.
Prior to joining Handheld, Hoekstra founded his own company, where he gained important sales and business experience.
He will bring a new, fresh spirit to Handheld’s home region.
“I’m looking forward to maintaining and strengthening the relationships Handheld has built with its reselling partners. We will continue to propel growth together with our versatile product lineup and new products to come,” he said.
“We are happy to see Oliver, Erik and Terence joining our strong sales team,” said Thomas Löfblad, vice president of global sales at Handheld Group.
“We have an interesting year ahead of us, with some attractive new products. We anticipate more growth, which will require a strong, sales-focused organization to support our resellers.”
Handheld’s lineup of rugged PDAs and mobile computers is specifically developed for use in tough environments in industries such as geomatics, logistics, forestry, public transportation, construction, mining, field service, utilities, maintenance, public safety, military and security.
