Hello! G-Cell Rings in Four States

G-Cell Communication, code division multiple access (CDMA) provider has successfully deployed a universal access services network to ensure that Nigerians irrespective of tribe, age, workplace and area enjoy quality of telecommunication services.
The network has a transmission backbone component for voice and data services for 405 named communities and was achieved in collaboration with Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).
Usman Gumi, managing director, G-Cell Communication, said that despite the increase in mobile services, a huge gap still remains in the digital inclusion.
The universal access services project is the World Bank initiative aimed at ensuring access network of telecommunication services to people irrespective of population density or the topology of the area of abode.
Gumi said that the network covers such areas as Yola, Jimeita, Gumbi, Song, Wuro, Daudu, Girei, Garkida, and Hawei in Adamawa State. Other areas include Biu in Borno state, Ilorin, Bode-saadu, Kaima, and Kosobosu in Kwara State and also Igbeti, Igbolo and Kishi in Oyo State as well as Calabar, Akpankpa, Biase, Ugep and Obubra in Cross River State.
He said that G-Cell has successfully interconnected with all network operators to ensure seamless service while pledging effective services to its subscriber’s at the most affordable tariff. Gumi said that with the completion of the phase 1 and phase 2 of the project that G-Cell will liaise with NCC to cover other areas that have being identified as unserved and underserved.
G-Cell with unified access service license is gearing up to be among the top three players in the industry by 2015.
