HMD Global, the Home of Nokia phones, has reassured its partners and customers in Nigeria that it remains committed to quality craftsmanship that has become the hallmark of the Nokia phone brand over the years. This was stated at a partners and customers event organized by the firm to engage and reward outstanding trade partners.

Joseph Umunakwe, General Manager, West, East and Central Africa at HMD Global, in his opening remarks appreciated the partners and customers for their unwavering support and trust in the brand.

“Your commitment to the Nokia phone brand has brought us where we are today and we do not take this support for granted. We are already top 10 smartphone player globally and are top 5 in more than 30 countries, in barely two and a half years of our existence,” he said.

Mr. Umunakwe highlighted the key differentiators which have kept consumers all over the country interested in the Nokia phones. According to him “At HMD Global, we continue to innovate in ways that our consumers are beginning to benefit from the advancement of technology in their daily lives.

Some of the key differentiators that have kept us ahead of the game, include our commitment to quality craftsmanship; our European/Finnish heritage; our partnership with ZEISS and our pure, secure and up-to-date Android offering which gives you access to the innovations from Google and ensure that your Nokia smartphones keep getting better with time.”

The Market Access Manager, HMD Global, Adetayo Obinaike, took attendees through the newly introduced Nokia phones – Nokia 1 Plus, Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 9 PureView- stating that the phones have started selling in the country.

“For us, it is no longer just about specs, but about the experience throughout the life of a device. We believe that your phone should get better with time which explains why our Nokia smartphones have an unmatched track record of keeping your smartphones up to date with latest innovations from Google,” Obinaike said.

Two Master Dealers, Trust Island Global and Rewjido Nigeria Limited, were rewarded for their outstanding performances in the first quarter of 2019.

Commending HMD Global on this kind gesture, the Managing Director of Trust Island Global, Renee Aganmwonyi, said “We appreciate HMD Global for your support. This recognition is a reward of our dedication to driving the brand and a motivation to do more with you going forward.”
