HP out with Workstation and Dreamcolor Monitor for Digital Content Creators

To improve the quality of graphics of our film production and make it compete favourably in the global marketplace of ideas, Hewlett Packard (HP) Nigeria has come up with two performance-boosted versions of its high-end personal workstation computers for digital content professionals in the broadcast, film/ video postproduction, animation and graphic art industries
Terae Onyeje, category manager, Personal Systems Group, HP Nigeria  said that a new generation of multimedia content  and the incredible  groundswell of creativity behind it  is driving technology innovation to new heights and that HP has continued to help power this movement with the latest performance enhancements  in workstations technology innovations.” HP personal workstations are widely known as the favorite workhorses of the industry’s top professionals that require superior performance and graphics”, she said.
She further explained that HP’s two updated high-end workstations, the HPxw8600 and HP xw9400 offer customers the latest in quad-core processor advances to boost performance for power users working with real-time video, high definition, animation and special effects.       
According to Onyeje, the HP8600 workstation, the higher performing of the two, includes up to two Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® X5482 processors with a 1,600MHz front side bus, 800 MHz memory and HP’s world-class expandability and reliability. The HP xw9400 workstation, she continued , offers a choice of three new Quad-Core AMD Opteron ™ 2300 processors even as she also emphasized that both workstations are listed Electronic Products  Environmental  Assessment  Tool (EPEAT™) Gold which she said is the highest rating available.
Coming out with this technology that helps to solve a longstanding obstacle for digital content creators, affordable and consistent color accuracy between devices has been made possible as a result of   collaboration between the two companies, HP Dreamcolor. The technology designed for the broadcast, film/video post-production and graphic art was assured by Onyeje as having the capacity to provide accurate, predictable color and a simple color management process that will guarantee vision-to-production color consistency in a widescreen liquid crystal display (LCD).
Further, Ijeoma Onyiuke, marketing manager, HP Nigeria   revealed that the focus of this year’s HP’s “The Art of Small Business” series is on the small business and digital creation even as she said that Adobe, Intel and HP’s partnerships an extensive range of workstations and displays including the new 248zx Dreamcolor monitor whereas Intel‘s Xeon technology will feature xw800 among other workstations.
On the occasion, Emeka Mba., the director general Nigerian Video Film and Censors Board   said that technology is helping industries to grow as space is no longer a barrier and emphasized that we must make out time to learn and be good in what we do for us to compete globally  while Nollywood actress, Amaka Igwe  asked HP to write out maintenance plan for the new technology and empower local engineers and editors on the functionality.
