Huawei, Vodafone in Strategic Alliance to Explore Global Enterprise Market

Huawei on Monday announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a new Strategic Alliance with Vodafone Global Enterprise focusing on the enterprise market in Europe, Asia Pacific and Africa.

Under the agreement, the companies will work together on the development of a variety of enterprise communications and technology services for global enterprise customers.

Specific areas of cooperation will initially include the use of Huawei’s fixed and mobile connectivity bonding technology for new products, investigating the opportunities for in-building coverage solutions, the development of new Machine-to-Machine module designs, and developing solutions regarding Safe City, Internet of Things, and cloud data centers.

Nick Jeffery, chief executive, Vodafone Group Enterprise, said, “We have worked with Huawei across various parts of our business and this agreement to focus on the enterprise market is an important evolution. There is an opportunity for us both to bring our expertise to bear on some of the key challenges in the enterprise market.”

This agreement builds on the extensive existing partnership between Vodafone and Huawei, where the companies have cooperated in infrastructure and devices development, and collaborated in joint innovations in enterprise technology.

Huawei and VGE have already worked closely in a number of areas to deliver an innovative branch enablement project in Asia, and Hosting & Cloud solution in South Africa.
