IDC Health Insights Expands EMEA Analyst Team

The International Data Corporation (IDC) Health Insights on Wednesday announced Jonas Hedegaard Knudsen joins as Research Director in the IDC Nordic office. Most recently, Jonas served as CIO for New Odense University Hospital, a greenfield university hospital construction project where he was accountable for spearheading "The Digital Hospital" program.

With more than 12 years of healthcare IT experience, Knudsen will be responsible for analyzing key trends related to IT strategies and spending in European healthcare organizations. Connect with him on LinkedIn.

In his role as CIO at Odense University Hospital (OUH), Knudsen was responsible for 70 employees and seven hospitals in various locations. He was also responsible for “The Digital Hospital” concept, vision, and strategy and oversaw its implementation within the Region of Southern Denmark.

With an impressive background in digital health, Knudsen began his career as a technical manager, responsible for the large project of buying and implementing an Electronic Health Care Journal in all hospitals within the former county of Fyn. In this role, Jonas managed more than 30 integration and development projects, as well as the critical task of outsourcing the server operation to a private vendor.

Knudsen earned a master’s degree in IT Organization and Communications from the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), and a TOGAF 9.1 Enterprise architect certification. He is now a frequent lecturer at the University of Southern Denmark on the subjects of IT, management, communication, and HR.
