IDC Welcomes Rajeev Agarwal to CIO Agenda Team

On Tuesday, IDC welcomed Rajeev Agarwal as a new Research Vice President, supporting the CIO Agenda and Technology Professional’s program.

In this new role, Mr. Agarwal’s research will focus on strategic planning and transformation, vendor management, globalization and workforce optimization, governance and metrics, process improvement and automation, and communications, across multiple industries.   

With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Agarwal brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insights to the team for the benefit of the program’s growing customer base.

Previously, Mr. Agarwal worked at State Street Corporation as Senior Vice-President, Information Technology, where he institutionalized globalization, drove the project management office (PMO), led the roll-out of the bank's LEAN program, and launched a critical-to-quality (CTQ) metrics program.

The globalization program saved $300M - $400M in workforce expenses over the last ten years.

As the Director of Commercial Banking at TowerGroup, he conducted research on strategic implementation of technology and advised financial institutions on commercial banking technology.

Earlier, at BankBoston, Mr. Agarwal served as Senior Manager, Financial Records and Control. He has also held management positions in Finance and Operations at Sun Microsystems, Tandem Computers, and Intel Corporation.

Mr. Agarwal holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton Business School and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.
