Indigenes, Friends Converge Online for Re-Imagine Oguta

Indigenes of Oguta and their friends across the globe will converge online for Re-imagine: Oguta – A Community Development Conversation starting Saturday November 21 through 22, 28 & 29, 2020 to discuss development of the community.

The event which is under the auspices of League of Oguta Professionals (LOOP) has as its theme – Oguta in the 21st Century and Beyond.

Discussants and panelists will review the history of development in the beautiful blue lake community that’s also home to the production facility of major International Oil Companies.

In a statement, Ogbuagu (Engr) Ernest Nwapa, pioneer executive secretary, Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board and Convener of LOOP, said that the conversation has become necessary to harmonize thoughts of various patriotic sons, daughters and friends of Oguta to move the community towards attainment of her true potential.

Speaking further, Chief Nwapa said “We want to utilize the opportunity and technology awareness that COVID-19 has provided to deepen and expand citizens’ developmental interventions in a lot more collaborative, sustainable and impactful manner”

Also speaking, Uche Aniche, convener of #StartupSouth and Conversation Team Lead said that the outcome and recommendations from the event will be compiled and hosted on a publicly available website to assist Oguta indigenes desirous of giving back quickly find ideas to work on.

Already confirmed speakers for the event include HE Rt. Hon. Alphonsus Gerald Irona, former Deputy Governor, Imo State, Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, Country Manager, West Africa at Ford Foundation, Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu, President, ISPON, Dr. Ifeanyi Uzoka, Dr. Udoka Uzoka, representatives of Oguta National Association, USA and many others.
