ISPON Honours Johnson, Minister of ComTech for Excellence

Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) has presented an Award of Excellence to Dr Omobola Johnson, minister of Communication Technology, in recognition of her role in initiating policies and programmes fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the software ecosystem in the country.

Pius Okigbo, president of ISPON, presented the accolade to the minister at the institute’s sixth annual presidential dinner in Lagos.

He stressed that ISPON was honoring the minister because her tenure as the Minister of Communication Technology had witnessed “an accelerated and outstanding delivery of a plethora of ICT initiatives enabling the development of Nigeria’s ICT sector.”

ISPON was formed in 1999 with the aim of creating an enabling environment for local content developers to thrive locally and internationally.

Membership of the association cuts across different categories tailored to fit a diverse range of software developers, software testers and users.
