Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria of Nigeria (Ispon) in its bid to strengthen its internal structure and position itself for National and International Competitiveness, has inaugurated three standing Committees to undertake the assignment of critical issues bothering on the association’s operations, such as national responsibility, enhanced benefit to the Government, public and its members.
The three Committees inaugurated and empowered by Mr. Chris Uwaje (FNCS), President of ISPON are Committee on Education (Capacity Building), Committee on Policy (Software Policy and Related Matters), and Committee on Legal and Regulatory.
The inauguration of the committees which took place at the Ispon Secretariat saw also the appointment of three seasoned Software Professionals to head the committees.
The Committee chairmen are Chief O.A Ayodele chief executive officer, Labyet Polaris for Education, Mr. Yele Okeremi managing director, Precise Financials Systems to take charge of the Committee on Legal and Regulatory matters, while Mr. James Emadonye of BSSL is to head the Committee on Policy and Strategies.
Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed chairmen, after the Terms Of Reference of the Committees were read, Mr. Yele Okeremi appreciated the Ispon national executive council (NEC) for such honour and call to national service even as he promised that the committees would live up to expectation in ensuring that their duties are carried out to the best of their ability.
In his response, Mr. Wahab Aminu-Sarunmi- managing director, XMN Technologies limited, member of the Legal and Regulatory Committee commended Ispon Nec for its democratic and inclusive policy as a model for excellent leadership.
Mr. Chris Uwaje, President, Ispon, thanked them for their acceptance and expressed the Institute’s belief in their ability to take Ispon to higher heights.
Also present during the inauguration were Mr. Moses Braimoh of Systemspecs who represented the First Vice President of ISPON, Mr. John Obaro, Mr. Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu, general secretary Ispon, and Mr Ogaga Ivhurie who stood in for Mr. Emadonye.
