Kaymu.com.ng, a leading player in the Nigerian online marketplace, has partnered with Kinabuti, one of Nigeria’s vibrant fashion houses with the support of Thea Kuta to train youths of the Orile Iganmu community on silk screening and how to sell online.

The three course module titled Kaymuvarsity, an educational initiative by Kaymu.com.ng was conducted on 13 graduates of the silk screening workshop organized by Kinabuti and Thea Kuta.

The module educated the students on how to sell online, how to manage an online store, as well as public relation and social media strategies for online marketplace sellers.

Speaking on the initiative, Massimiliano Spalazzi, managing director of Kaymu.com.ng, stated “Nigerian youths are entrepreneurial in nature, eager for knowledge and business savvy. There is no better way to contribute to the development of youths than teaching them a skill and training them on how to translate this skill to money”.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics 54% of Nigerian youths were unemployed as at 2012.

This was contained in the “2012 National Baseline Youth Survey Report’’ issued in Abuja by the NBS in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youths Development.

To this end entrepreneurial education may provide the needed bolt for a sustained drive towards reducing youth unemployment.

In time past, Kaymu has been in the fore front of driving entrepreneurship in Nigeria by undertaking measures such as the ongoing Free Commission period during which sellers can conduct business transactions on the platform at no cost to them, conducting integrated marketing for sellers on the platform as well as organizing training workshop for sellers.

“For an economy to thrive, it would require youths who are willing and able to become serial entrepreneurs; who can launch and successfully develop their own business ventures and Kaymu is there to provide a platform for these business ventures to bloom” Spalazzi added.

Kaymu offers a cost effective and simple way for sellers to create their own free online store where products such as mobile phones, computers, beauty, home and much more can be sold to buyers all over the country and is open to sellers of both new and used products to market their goods.
