Kelechi Okorie, head of Telecoms/IT desk City People Magazine is bereaved: Ezinne Adeline Adaku Okorie, his mother has passed on.
Okorie said his mother died after a brief illness at the Imo State University teaching hospital at Orlu, Imo State.
Born in 1936, Ezinne Adeline was a woman of many parts. At various times throughout her lifetime, she underwent training and briefly practiced as a teacher, nurse and seamstress. She also underwent vocational training as a caterer.
Married to late Pa Raymond Diala Okorie, an educator and a headmaster during and after the colonial era, she crisscrossed the eastern region of the country on transfers with her late husband while making a lot of impact on many lives.
A profile in versatility, she was a worthy matriarch of the Okorie family after her husband passed on to glory 20 years ago. A devoted Christian of the Anglican denomination, she was later slowed down as a result of aging illness.
Ezinne Adeline will be laid to rest on Friday, October 26, at Akabo, Owerri, Imo State.
According to the burial arrangement, body leaves Aladimma mortuary by 7:30 am on Friday 26th October 2013 to her home town, Obazu, Mbieri in Mbaitolu Local Government Area of Imo State.
Consequently, the body leaves for Umuiyi, Akabo, Owerri to lie-in-state at Okorie’s compound by 9:30 am. Funeral Service follows at St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Akabo by 11:00 while internment immediately follows at Okorie’s compound.
Ezinne Adeline Adaku Okorie is survived by nine children and several grand children.
