In pursuit of its pioneering goal in providing seamless payment solution, KongaPay enlightened SMEs and business owners on how to take advantage of KongaPay to make payment swifter and easier for their businesses at the Information Communication Technology and Telecommunications Exhibition and Conference 2016 (ICTEL Expo 2016), themed ‘Mobility, Technology and the Nigerian Economy’ which took place recently.
The ICTEL Expo 2016 is a professional trade show that focuses on the ICT and the telecommunications industry was organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry, bringing together over 53 different ICT businesses.
KongaPay introduced its unique payment platform to the Minister of Communications Technology, Barrister Adebayo Shittu who described KongaPay as an interesting solution. The ICTEL Expo 2016 also provided a great opportunity for networking as businesses got firsthand information on the benefits of adopting the use of KongaPay for their payments.
KongaPay which started as a payment solution for customers on Konga.com, evolved to becoming a financial catalyst for trade and commerce for businesses; both offline and online in Nigeria. Speaking on the big picture for KongaPay, Konga’s Director of Marketing & Customer Experience, Mayowa Adebayo stated “We see KongaPay evolving the payment experience for everyone - online and offline, increasing its values of convenience and social benefit. This is in line with our mission of being the primary mobile financial service of choice in the world.”
A first in Africa and the world, KongaPay is made available to other consumers outside of the Konga.com’s platform because it is designed to be fast, reliable, secure, flexible and above all provides a best-in-class financial solution to Nigerians and Africa at large. KongaPay is pioneering me-Commerce where users can take a photo of any item they want to sell and a payment QR code will be generated for them to share on their favorite social media sites.
KongaPay was launched as a pilot product in 2015 to work for customers only within the Konga.com's platform. On the 26th of April 2016, KongaPay launched commercially. Beyond being a payment solution just on Konga.com, KongaPay allows buyers and sellers both offline and online to perform seamless and secure payment transactions anywhere and anytime.
The challenge of lack of trust in making online payment was quenched by KongaPay that has made it possible for anyone to use Konga’s online platform.
This innovation had protected online shoppers against the reports of fraud when they release their bank details online. KongaPay is similar to what is seen in Amazon platform with its one-click payments.
It was unveiled in Lagos, Nigeria at a KongaPay Demo event. The payment option has been fully integrated with Ecobank, Access bank, FCMB, Diamond Bank, Zenith Bank, Heritage Bank, UBA, First Bank and GTB.
With KongaPay, a customer receives an authorization code that is secured and registered to the mobile phone number on the website.
There is no need for customers to sign up for electronic banking if the customer has a registered mobile phone number and a bank account.
KongaPay has eliminated the use of sensitive personal information such as Internet banking passwords or card details with just a click.
