Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, governor, Kano State, yesterday met with his aides and appealed to them to advise him rightly, following hints of his presidential ambition.
At the meeting , he stated that “As we started consultation on whether to join the 2015 presidential race, we have seen a lot of admirers and a lot of true enemies. Some people who have never met me have sent me copies of my posters, calling on me to join the race.
“Although some of these posters were sent to me since the last two years with a logo of PDP, therefore, I directed my aides to destroy PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) posters and keep the APC’s (All Progressives Congress) until I make the decision,” he noted.
By his own admission, Governor Rabiu said he is now popular as people want to see him wherever he goes across the country.
This, he noted, was due to the projects his government has executed as well as his transparency which they want replicated at a higher level.
The governor noted that people across the country and beyond have been urging him to declare his presidential ambition for 2015, pointing out that they assured him of their full support.
He said Nigeria needs credible people that cannot only transform the nation, but bring about change to improve the country, noting that Kano has witnessed a great transformation in all sectors.
Kwankwaso hoped that APC would win the gubernatorial election and indeed, all elections with a wide margin next year, adding that the next governor would find Kano easy to govern.
