Lagos State government has launched a renewed offensive against crime in the state with the launch of its security distress number ‘767’ that works even with zero account balance.
Emergency telephone number is a special case in the country’s telephone number plan and it is the typical three-digit number, that it can be easily remembered and dialed quickly.

gathered that United Nations (UN) Security tested the number over the weekend and got immediate response.
The number ‘767’ is an emergency line dedicated for quick communication with the men of Rapid Response Squad (RRS).
All subscribers of Celtel, MTN, Starcomms and GLO in distress would only have to dial ‘767’ to be linked with trained professionals that would collect needed information that would enable them to contact the RRS for rescue operations.
