Officials of the Lagos State Records and Archives Bureau (LASRAB) led by  Mr. Biodun Onayele, the director general, have commenced a 5-day records survey and acquisition of the records in the Apapa Local Government Area.

The exercise begins on Monday with a courtesy visit to Adele Owolabi Elijah, the LGA chairman.

In his brief, DG – LASRAB informed the Chairman that apart from the records survey and acquisition exercise, the visit is to sensitize the Local Government Staff on the importance of records management to effective public service delivery.

The Chairman, in his response, welcomed the Director General and his team to the Local Government Area and stated that the initiative of the Bureau is of great importance as records management plays a crucial role in the developmental process of people and their environment.

He thereafter requested the Head of Administration of the Council, Prince Adegbola Olujobi, to make available all that is required to make the exercise a successful one.

The LASRAB’s team to the Local Government with the Director General comprises: Mrs. Bolaji Olowofela, Bureau Secretary; Dr. Kolawole Oseni, Head, Records & Archives; Mr. Deji Hamzat, Head, Records Management, Mr. Ojo Olusola, Head, Archives Management, Mr. Oladiran Samuel, Principal Archivist, Miss Ajoke Lukoh, Senior Archivist; Mrs. Bosede Olamuyiwa, Senior Archivist; Mr. Julius Onileowo, Principal Executive Officer and Miss Aisha Animashaun, Senior Public Affairs Officer.
