Lenovo Systems to Come With Preloaded REACHit App in 2015
Lenovo has unveiled the latest addition to its DOit suite of apps, Lenovo REACHit, designed to help improve the way people manage their files across multiple platforms and devices and will be preloaded in its systems from 2015.
Lenovo REACHit, allows users to access, organize, search and share files no matter where they are stored with one easy-to-use app.
Today’s consumers are more and more connected, and the number of devices they use and data generated continues to grow.
With multiple devices and storage locations to manage, REACHit connects a user’s PC, Android or iOS device and multiple cloud storage accounts from Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox and Box.
REACHit, however, helps make finding data simpler with its touchscreen, graphical user interface (GUI) that features customizable views for data filtering, sorting and viewing.
Users can quickly and easily locate files across devices and accounts using the search bar, which can be pinned to the home screen or through the app.
For Windows users, REACHit integrates into Windows File Explorer for searching storage locations within the Windows operating system.
For editing documents before a big presentation or on the go, Lenovo said REACHit allows users to move files between storage locations by dragging and dropping the files within the app’s interface. Users can also edit word documents, spreadsheets, and presentations in the cloud using the ZOHO document editor.
Documents, pictures, videos, and other files can be shared with friends and family via the SHAREit app, email, downloadable link and on FaceBook or Twitter.
“We are extremely excited about launching REACHit but this is only the beginning. We have lots of cool ideas and features that we’ll be using to enhance REACHit’s functionality. But even more important than those we are looking to drive a model where our customers “vote” on what we should do next and provide us with feedback to direct our future development,” said Mark Cohen, vice president, Ecosystem and Cloud Services, Lenovo.
“The ability to get to any file, no matter where it is stored, has quickly become a core need. With REACHit, and our user’s guidance, we feel that we can deliver an experience that is not only extremely cool today, but one that evolves to help our users locate and manage their content – no matter where it is,” Cohen added.
REACHit will come preloaded on all Lenovo systems starting in early 2015. The app is now available for free download on Lenovo.com, the Google Play store and the Apple App Store.
