OneSpan formally recognizes MAXUT Consulting as best sales & technical integration partner in Nigeria and the West African region.

OneSpan gave the award at a brief ceremony during the recently concluded 3rd Annual Banking Security Summit held at the Radisson BLU Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.  The 1-day summit, organized by both companies had in attendance speakers and stakeholders from the Nigerian and African banking, payments, and fintech sectors as well as representatives from the CBN and NIBSS.

Presenting the award, Mr. Christian Hertsens, Vice President, Sales EMEA South at OneSpan, and Mr. Nicolas Poire, Regional Manager for Africa, reiterated OneSpan’s reliance on local firms such as MAXUT Consulting, to deliver industry-leading security & fraud solutions to customers in various countries worldwide and the role played by Nigeria in leading fraud prevention and banking security awareness in Africa.

“MAXUT was a major contributor to OneSpan’s growth in Africa in 2018”, remarked, Nicolas Poire.

Mike Odusami, CEO and Martin Ajayiobe, Senior Vice President, received the award on behalf of MAXUT. Mike thanked customers who made the award possible and for trusting in MAXUT to keep online and mobile banking transactions secure. MAXUT customers include Zenith Bank, GTB, Skye, FCMB, Union Bank, Unity Bank and other top banks in Nigeria

Earlier in the day, while delivering the keynote address at the summit, Mr. Musa Itopa, Deputy Director, CBN representing Mr. Dipo Fatokun, Director, Banking & Payment System, updated attendees on the progress made on various policy initiatives of the government including cashless society and financial inclusion and tasked participants to continue to provide expertise on new innovations such as open banking that will help further those policies and democratize access to banking services.

Earlier at a Channel’s TV Business Breakfast interview, Mike Odusami and Frederik Mennes, Senior Manager for Market Strategy, OneSpan discussed cybersecurity and fraud trends in the Nigerian and global markets and what individuals and the banks are doing to protect customers’ transactions. They also discussed various regulations being put in place by regulatory agencies around the world to tackle financial frauds and how some of these regulations are being adapted for the Nigerian banking environment.

Other speakers at the event include Mr. Adebisi Shonubi (MD, NIBBS, represented by Femi Fadairo), Dr. David Isiavwe (GM & Audit Executive, Union Bank), Dr. Segun Aina, President Fintech Association Nigeria (represented by Mr. Stanley Jacobs), Mr. Dele Adeyinka, (Chief Digital Officer, ALAT/Wema Bank) and Mr. Eddy Ogbogu, Group Executive, Operations and Technology, Ecobank, Togo.

Also, at the event was Mr. Rolland Avedician, from the US State Department to discuss areas of cooperation between Nigerian and US law enforcement agencies in fighting electronic frauds.
