Microsoft, software giant, has revealed that a number of security flaws have been discovered in Windows 10.
In a blog post explaining the security vulnerabilities, Microsoft had explained that the security flaws lie within its Remote Desktop Services (RDS) code.
Analysts said the exploits discovered can spread to other vulnerable devices without user action since they are “wormable”, adding that the security flaws bear semblance with those exploited by the self-replicating ransomware in 2017.
According to Microsoft, the operating systems affected are: Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2 Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1 and all versions Windows 10.
Microsoft said it has released patches to address the security vulnerabilities, urging users to update their systems as quickly as possible.
“It is important that affected systems are patched as quickly as possible because of the elevated risks associated with workable vulnerabilities like these. Customers who have automatic updates enabled are automatically protected by these fixes”, Microsoft said.
