Mobile Monday Nigeria has announced its first ever "Hackathon" bridging the worlds of software developers and graphic artists, an event which will take place in Lagos under the auspices of the Lagos State Government Ministry of Science and Technology and sponsorship by VConnect Global services (operators of the VConnect.com information search portal).
So come Monday, June 24, over 150 mobile developers, enthusiasts and industry representatives will gather at the Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology E-Learning Centre at 14 Odunlami street in the heart of Lagos Island to participate in the "Entertainment Now" Hackathon, a free, day-long coding marathon for development teams to create new and novel mobile web applications around movies showing in Lagos and related content for mobile phones powered by content from VConnect.com
Teams of programmers, graphic artists, and user interface designers will combine their talents and compete against each other to build new mobile web applications that meet guidelines and requirements set by the organisers of the "Hackathon".
A panel of experienced Judges will assess each group's application based on pre-set criteria.
Contestants are being invited to register for the event through a website dedicated to the HACKATHON www.hackathon.com.ng by this Friday June 21 and among other prizes, the winner will get a development contract with the sponsors.
Participation is opened to all developers in Nigeria.
