This Year’s Banking and payment technologies event for West Africa, organized by Aitec Africa at the Muson centre in May 4th – 6th,will add another feather to its cap. A fully fledge Innovation centre will be deployed for the first time in the Annals of technology conference in West Africa.
Mobilechallenge has been selected a partner to power the Innovation Hub which is a partnership with Gates Foundation and Enhancing Financial Innovation & Access (EFInA),. The Hub will enable SME active in developing Mobile and software technologies for the unbanked, Micro finance and financially excluded in an economy where 70% of the population is still unbanked, to showcase their developmental efforts.
Emmanuel Okoegwale, chief innovator at Mobile Challenge said that no country can leap frog into prosperity without a sound and robust platform to engage the financially excluded majority’.
He added further that Innovation is the bedrock to development where He explained How Bangalore in India is not only providing direct employments to Millions but also raking in Billions of Dollars from Globally outsourced Contracts.
Sean Moroney, chairman of Aitec Africa, the organizers of the Event said that the Financial Services Innovation Hub will provide a showcase for SMEs that are developing innovative solutions for the financial services sector, particularly to provide low-cost services to the unbanked.
He said that SMEs active in software and system development in this area are invited to apply for free exhibition space in the Hub.
Participation is free for all SME’s in this category and all they need to do is register their developments which must be focused on the Financial systems which is aimed at providing  low cost and innovative services for the Unbanked.
