More primary school pupils tutored by New Horizons has emerged as youngest Adobe Certified Associate and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist at Age 8 and 10yrs respectively.
They are Chukwukammadu Praise Anene from Pathway primary school and Chukwubikem Progress Anene from Chrisland College.
As at today Nigeria can boast of more teenage IT professionals than any country in Africa. At this rate the objective of producing 50,000 Teens IT professionals yearly for the next ten years is not farfetched.
The teens have also formed an association ‘Nigerian Young ICT Professionals’ with a website tagged – www.youngictprofessionals.ng.gov where they plan to exhibit various projects, inventions, better business tools and opportunities. The group has youths within the age brackets of 5 to 19 years with a view of starting business at 20.
Other activities within the group are: conduction of general meetings with Top IT professionals and getting assigned to a Mentor from among New Horizons IT experts and friends.
