MTN Nigeria has been rewarded for its contribution to the development of women in business and at home with the Most Outstanding Product Award at the Mums@Work symposium on Saturday, 24 November 2018, in Lagos.
The award was in recognition of the ICT Company’s effort to support women through its MTN Audrey Care service, a mobile subscription-based service that delivers targeted, time-specific, evidence-based maternal and child health (MNCH) information via SMS to MTN subscribers in Nigeria.
Mums@Work is an organisation that is focused on improving the quality of living of mothers through strategic advocacy for women’s right, empowerment and repositioning women to enable them contribute positively to society.
Receiving the award on behalf of MTN, Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Lynda Saint-Nwafor, thanked the symposium’s organisers for the recognition. In her address, she stated that MTN remained committed to improving the overall wellbeing of Nigerian women.
“At MTN, we are committed to seeing women excel and get to the pinnacle of success in whatever career path they choose. In our organisation, we have an excellent representation of women in leadership roles, and they are all doing well,” she said.
MTN, over the years, has been supportive of women. The MTN Audrey Care service provides access to vital information on maternal health issues before, during and after pregnancy. It also comes with pregnancy insurance cover, amongst other value-added services.
