The Nigerian Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (NASME), has elected 19 members into its Governing Council.

The elections were organized at NASME’s 7th annual general meeting held in Lagos recently.

Monday Ashibogwu, national publicity secretary at NASME in a press statement said that the AGM drew members from all chapters across the country was well attended by corporate and institutional members.

NASME is a business membership organization founded in 1996 and currently has 26 active state chapters with over 25,000 companies and institutions as members.

The following members were elected into the Governing Council of NASME to run its affairs for two years: Sir (Prince) ‘Degun Agboade, president & chairman of Council; Mr. Tokunbo Talabi , Deputy President, Finance & Administration; Engr. Abdul Rasheed Yerima, Deputy President, North; Chief M.O. Nlemigbo, Deputy President, South and Alhaji Bala Othman Suleiman, Zonal Vice President (North East).

Others are Hon. Ibrahim Dasuki Haske, Zonal Vice President (North West); Mr. Vincent Dumoni, Zonal Vice President (North Central); Mr. Chiedu Anyaso, Zonal Vice President (South East); r. Oladipo Jemi Alade, Zonal Vice President (South West);  Dr Oko-Jaja, Zonal Vice President (South South); Mr. Monday Michaels Ashibogwu, Publicity Secretary UNION BANK, Treasurer; Dr Obiora Madu, Private Sector Representative; Mr. Oladipo Bankole, Private Sector Representative; Mr. Tayo Omidiji NEXIM Bank, Representing Financial Institutions; Mr. Felix Oyakhamoh ECOBANK, Representing Financial Institutions; Mr. A. Sowunmi CBN, Representing Financial Institutions; Mr. Tokunbo Habeeb RMRDC, Representing Public Sector Institutions and Dr DM Ibrahim NOTAO, Representing Public Sector Institutions.

In his acceptance speech, Sir ‘Degun Agboade, the newly elected President and Chairman of Council, thanked outgoing members of the Council for their selfless service for the past four years as he outlined a 7-point agenda to move NASME forward.

The association being the largest BMO (Business Membership Organisation) representing various sectors of MSMEs noted for driving the country’s economy is repositioning to serve better the interests of MSMEs in Nigeria.
