NCS Intensifies Preparations for Conference, ‘Akure 2015’

Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) 12th International Conference tagged holding in Akure, Ondo State, is intended to provide a forum for Policy Makers, Public and Private Sector, Information Technology Practitioners and the Academia to keep up-to-date with technology trends in Nigeria and world at large.

Participants will also discover opportunities for the private sector in the process of inclusive development and avenues for public-private partnerships towards realizing the IT objectives within the context of Millennium Development Goals (MDG).

The Conference, according to statement on NCS’ website, “will provide opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas, establish business or research relations, and find global partners for future collaborations”.

The theme of the Conference is “Information Technology for Inclusive Development” holding from Wednesday, July 22 to Friday, July 24, 2015 at Jojein Hotels & Resort, Airport Road, Akure – Ondo State, Nigeria.

NCS had earlier invite papers from researchers, academia, policy makers, industry professionals from all over the World to present their research results and activities within the following Conference Sub-themes: smart city & broadband penetration; innovation and Leadership in IT; cashless society & e-payment systems; critical information infrastructure protection (CIIP); cloud computing & Big data; social networks and next generation networking and the internet.

Other areas for discuss include, IT human capital development (Mentorship); e-Health/e-Education/e-Agriculture/e-Tourism/e-Government; entrepreneurship development in the IT sector; software technologies/local content issues; mobility for Inclusion; funding Nigerian IT industry and marketing and selling Made-in-Nigeria software.

According to NCS plan all submitted papers must have been peer-reviewed by a highly qualified panel of reviewers as the authors were requested to submit full paper (original and unpublished work) before 20th April 2015.

Doctoral students are also invited to submit their on-going research activities for possible review, publication and presentation during the Research Consortium on Information Technology Innovations (ReCITI).

Registration Fees: NCS displayed an upward review of the fees as normal registration for members increased from N40,000  to N45,000 and N45,000 to N50,000 for non-members.

NCS added that mode of registrations is strictly online.

On cancellation of registration, NCS said that request received on or before July 4th, 2015 will receive 50% refund, while those received after July 4th, 2015 implies no refund; as all cancellation requests should be forwarded to the Executive Secretary, Nigeria Computer Society
