NDSF@15: All is set to discourse Innovative Digital Economy, safer civic space in Nigeria
All is now set for the 2024 Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on Internet Governance for Development (IG4D) holding this Thursday, June 27, at the prestigious Welcome Center Hotels, International Airport Road, Lagos, according to the organisers, ITREALMS Media group.
The Lead Consulting Strategist, DigitalSENSE Africa and Group Executive Editor, ITREALMS Media, Sir Remmy Nweke, said that this year’s edition marks the 15th edition of Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on IG4D series on the theme “IG4D: Innovative Digital Economy & Safer Civic Space in Nigeria,” with the Executive Director, Media Rights Agenda, Mr. Edetaen Ojo presiding.
He also said that the Chief Executive Officer, Digital Realty Nigeria, Engr. Ikechukwu Nnamani would be the special guest speaker, while a number of speakers faculty would join him to discuss the theme for this year.
Nweke listed some of the seasoned industry experts in the speakers faculty to include the Chairman, Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), Engr. Gbenga Adebayo; Chief Executive Officer, Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN) Mr. Muhammed Rudman; Executive Director, Paradigm Initiative Nigeria, Mr. Gbenga Sesan and the Data Protection Officer at Upperlink Limited, Ms Francisca Iloezumma.
He recalled that in 2009, the Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum (NDSF) series on Internet Governance for Development made a debut at the Golden Gate Restaurant Ikoyi-Lagos and ever since, has remained firm in rallying stakeholders to take discourse on Internet access, openness, affordability, connectivity and ICT infrastructure among others.
“We are set for the 2024 Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum,” he declared, stressing that at 15th edition, its time for recognition of corporates and individuals for their contributions in deepening Internet penetration, improving access, affordability, technological adaptation that bring forth digital sense in Nigeria.
NDSF series on IG4D, powered by ITREALMS Media group is hosted by DigitalSENSE Africa, an At-Large Structure (ALS) certified by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), in collaboration with relevant stakeholders including Internet Society (ISOC), Nigeria chapter, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Digital Realty Nigeria, NNPC Limited, NLNG, Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN) to name but a few.

Twisco Awards N1m to Winners of Spelling Geniuses Competition
Twisco, known for “nourishing big dreams”, has successfully sponsored the third edition of the Spelling Genius competition.
The competition held recently at the SUBEB Multipurpose Hall, Maryland, Lagos, brought together over 1500 students and instructors from primary and secondary schools (state and private).
The contestants vied to showcase their spelling skills at the competition aimed to enhance vocabulary and spelling skills for successful learning.
Twisco awarded a total of ₦750,000 in prizes to the top three winners: ₦150,000 for the third place winner, ₦250,000 for the second place winner, and a grand prize of ₦350,000 for the first place winner.
Speaking to journalists at the event, Lillian Omorenuwa, the Brand Manager, Beverage Category at Promasidor Nigeria, said they are not only helping the children develop spelling skills and reading comprehension, but also bolstering their confidence and communication skills as well.

MTN Foundation’s Odunayo Sanya Urges Private Sector to Join Forces for Better Healthcare in Nigeria
Odunayo Sanya, Executive Director of MTN Foundation, has urged stakeholders in the healthcare industry to come together to address the skills gap and improve healthcare outcomes in Nigeria. Speaking at the CLI College graduation ceremony on May 25th, 2024, where she delivered the keynote speech, Sanya emphasised the need for collective action to bridge the skills gap in the healthcare industry.
