Nigeria is witnessing a telecom revolution which has resulted in impressive growth of landline and mobile connections.
Now it is time to have a forum to present valid forecasts of future developments in the telecom industry and examine the driving forces behind these developments.
That is why the industry must rally around the proposed Nigeria Device Management forum a meeting point of major stakeholders involved in the development, distribution and management of end user telecommunications devices and the services they support.
The meeting should include regulator, top government functionaries, bankers, major switching companies, device manufacturers, network operators, software vendors, distributors and retailers.
The essence is to give both the layperson and the professional an update of emerging technology and related business trends and events.
It will be gathering government policy makers, service providers’ equipment manufacturers, industry associations and investors, lenders and the common man.
The aim will be principally to bring all key actors in the industry to discuss, suggest and chart a roadmap for the future of telecommunications in Nigeria.
It is important for the industry stakeholders to sustain the impressive development recorded in the telecom sector by taking advantage of the forum.
Industry players must endeavour to expand their toolkit with new ideas and new techniques at the forum.
It should also be a forum to encourage young and budding device and content developers while contributing their thoughts, ideas and opinions to issues.
The forum should be designed to be a meeting point for next employer or employee.
Attendance at the forum should be able to maximize organization's presence before, during, and after every forum with targeted marketing opportunities.
The forum should be promoted to serve as opportunity to obtain brand awareness & media exposure, improved credibility and image transfer - build brand recognition
