World leader in ICT training, New Horizons Systems Solutions Limited, a company with over 60 national offices in six continents of the world, Africa inclusive, has won the 2009 Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Training Academy of the year Award at the just concluded Titans of Tech Awards in Lagos.
The ICT training institute was showered with various awards among which, was the ICT Training Academy of the Year Award at the Titans of Tech annual National ICT Merit Awards.
According to the organizers of the event, Technology Africa, the awards followed the release of the report by the Awards Planning Committee, which showed that New Horizons excelled in ICT training in the Nigeria.
New Horizons which began operations in Nigeria close to four years ago, is the first ICT training institution in Nigeria to integrate ICT certification based training with Academic curricula in the tertiary, secondary and primary institutions of learning with widest spread across the southwest and fastest growing impact among Nigerian youths.
Consequent upon this pioneering initiative, New Horizons trains well over 20,000 students annually in several educational institutions like Covenant University, Babcock University,  Crawford University, Crescent University, Doregos Private Academy, Queensland schools Topmost, Adrao, Diamonds, among others.
Recently, two young students, 12 year old Davidson Osaremen, and 13 year old Oluwaseun Alade, who were both trained by New Horizons, made about the highest marks in the international Microsoft Certified professional exams, thereby becoming the youngest Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs) in Nigeria and Africa as at today.
Receiving the award, Mr. Tim Akano, chief executive of New Horizons said “What we are offering is the kind of IT training that will challenge people into creativity and designing of things by themselves.”
In fulfillment of this promise made to Nigerians, the company has gone ahead of the pack in the industry to acquire the master franchise of EC-Council, a leading global Information Security Science and e-business learning solution provider to give best-of-rest e-business and information security training as enjoyed by international bodies like the FBI, China police and blue chip companies across America and Asia.
New Horizons has demonstrated within the very short period of entering the ICT Industry that it has what it takes to take the Nation’s ICT revolution to the highest level by being the originator and trail-blazer in most of the innovations observed in recent times. The company has proven to be an organization with a sound understanding of what is required to leapfrog Nigeria into the information age and thus richly deserves to be recognized.
The award night was held at the Eko Hotels and Suites; on Thursday April 9, 2009 and was presented by Vice Admiral Allison Madueke (Rtd).
