.ng Awards 2017: Communicationweek Nominated for Best Online Media Website

Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA) has unveiled the nominees for the 2017 .ng Awards, as Nigeria CommunicationsWeek gets nominated in category 12 as ‘Best Online Media Website’.

Winners for each category will be determined through online voting and decisions from an array of competent Award Jury selected based on their relevance and expertise.

The awards voting process which kick starts from February 20th, 2017, will end on the April 3rd, 2017 with a glamorous awards gala scheduled to take place on Friday, 21st April, 2017

The .ng Awards celebrate the achievements and innovation of Nigerian Internet initiatives. The awards aim to showcase Nigerian businesses, individuals, charity, public and private sector organizations which help to make the Internet a more secure, open, accessible and rewarding experience for all.

“At the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), we believe in the power of the Internet and are determined that the .ng domain name space that we are responsible for, has a positive impact on the lives of Internet users. We acknowledge the great work being done out there and desire the public to know about it, talk about it, engage with it and put it into the spotlight.

“Our annual .ng Awards are open to any organization or individual whose activity online is outstanding, using the .ng domain name”, NIRA said in a statement announcing the award nominations.

NiRA Presidential Awards

Best .ng ccTLD Registrar

This award is presented to the best Registrar at Platinum, Silver, Gold or Standard levels(The level used for the award will be based on the level the registrar has maintained for a minimum of seven months).

Best supporting Media Partner

This is a Special Recognition Award presented to the media partner who has supported and promoted the knowledge of the Internet Ecosystem in Nigeria and the .ng domain name.

NiRA Presidential Award for Youth Development

This award recognizes and encourages the development of youth in Nigeria. It is a NiRA Presidential award given to the Youth that have a combination of the best .ng website, best online local content and best use of ICT.

NiRA Presidential Award for Women Development

This award promotes the participation and advancement of women in the ICT industry in Nigeria. It will encourage and stimulate the interest of young female to engage in ICT-related studies and subsequently careers. The awards will recognize the very best female in the ICT industry, celebrating her achievements, talents and reward her professional accomplishments.

NiRA Special Recognition Award

This is a Special Recognition Award Category presented by the President of NiRA.
