Weather Instrument Calibration Laboratory belonging to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has commenced operations in Murtala Mohammed Airport Ikeja, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, Aminu Kano International Airport Kano and Portharcourt International Airport.
Dr Anthony Anuforom, director general (NIMET), who disclosed this to newsmen, explained that the Instrument Calibration Laboratory was built and equipped last year.
According to Anuforom, the Agency has since trained engineers to man the laboratory.
The NIMET Boss emphasized the significant of role of the laboratory describing it as a component for enhancement of safety as it would give accuracy of measurement of the weather conditions.
