The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) was honoured with Corporate Citizen Excellence Award by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) during a recent presidential dinner and award night organized by the institute.
In his presentation, Dr. Rotimi Oladele, national president of NIPR, said the event was the maiden edition of the award and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria was shortlisted among the best corporate establishments based on on-going laudable transformation projects in the aviation sector, which was aimed at institutionalizing world-class safety and security standard at the airports.
“This epoch-making aviation initiative has created jobs for the teeming growing population,” Oladele said.
According to him, “our airports are the gateways into the country and create the first and lasting impression.” He commended FAAN management for its concerted effort in ensuring a total remodelling of the airports in order to boost the nation’s image.
Mr. Bassey Ekpe Nta, staff of the Corporate Communications department who received the award on behalf of the Authority, thanked the National President and the board of the NIPR for this kind gesture.
