NiRA Hinges .ng Domain Adoption to Broadband Penetration

The Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) said it looks forward to faster connectivity, increased penetration, usage and affordable Internet as panacea for improved internet business in the country in Nigeria.

Mr. Sunday Folayan, president of NiRA represented by Mrs. Edith Udeagu, chief operating officer of the Association made the case for improved broadband penetration at this year’s Nigeria Internet Group (NIG) conference and exhibition held in Lagos recently.

Udeagu said, “We have the population to create the numbers for any company”.

NiRA is the registry for .ng Internet Domain Names and maintains the database of names registered in the .ng country code Top Level Domain.

She said that on the occasion of the Nigeria Internet Group (NIG) Annual Conference and Exhibitions 2015 Edition, it was important to recognize and appreciate the role the NIG has played in promoting the Internet and its usage in Nigeria since 1995.

According to her, NiRA appreciates all the efforts in organizing these annual conferences and exhibitions.

“It takes a lot of hard work and dedication on the part of NIG, the industry 2 stakeholders and participants at this conferences and exhibitions, deliberating on various topical issues and proffering solutions. We salute and congratulate all who participate and ensure the huge success recorded year in year out.
