The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in the quest and enthusiasm to strengthen its Anti – Corruption fight, and to sensitize the staff of the agency against unconsecrated and unethical practices, inducted new members into its Anti- Corruption Committee.
Mr Sarafa Lawal, chairman of NITDA’s Anti – Corruption and transparency Unit, speaking during the induction ceremony in honor of the new inductees applaud the Director General of NITDA, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami (FBCS) for implementing the whistle blowing initiative in the agency, which will aid transparency in all the activities operating within the borders of the organisation.
Lawal appreciates Dr Pantami for living up to his words quoted during his inaugural speech, "I am allergic to corrupt practices and favouratism", and also for restructuring the agency with the zeal to deliver more effectively and efficiently within the stipulated mandate of NITDA channeled towards a swift growth and development of the IT sector of the country.
In his remarks, Mr Kuatsea Justin, head Anti –Corruption Unit at the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), appreciated NITDA for the collaboration that has existed over the years which has yield positive outcome in sensitizing staff and also sanitizing the agency.
A press release endorsed by Mrs. Hadiza Umar, head, Corporate Affairs & External Relations at NITDA quotes Mr Justin as called on the agency to establish an e-platform that will aid ICPC in monitoring the activities of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s) with the zeal to curb and sanitise all corrupt practices within Government organisations in the country, thereby creating an environment that our future generation will benefit handsomely from and be proud be citizens of our great country Nigeria.
