The newly inaugurated Governing Board of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) yesterday held its inaugural meeting at the Agency’s Corporate Headquarters, Abuja.
Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, Member/Secretary of the Board and Director General of the Agency, during his remarks informed the meeting that President Muhammadu Buhari had challenged all ICT stakeholders to leverage on technology to diversify Nigerian economy and also reverse the current trend from being an ICT importing Nation to an ICT exporting Nation.
Prof. Adeolu Akande, Chairman of the Board, in his remarks, urged all members to join forces and facilitate the lofty objectives for which NITDA was established in 2001.
“NITDA has worked over past years to attain these objectives. Let us pay tribute to the founding fathers of the Agency and all others who have worked over the years to take it to the height it has attained” he said
Prof. Akande further stated that most of the challenges facing the nation today could be addressed using Information Technology.
He also pledged his commitment to work with all members to achieve the desired goals and also the lofty objectives of the Agency.
